RedHawks Insider has learned that sophomore postman Dwight McCombs has decided to transfer. As a freshman last season, McCombs played in 28 games in a backup role. His season highs for points (6), rebounds (6), and minutes occurred in the game at Kansas. 20 of his 36 rebounds during the season were on the offensive board.

In a brief conversation with RedHawk Insider over the weekend McCombs cited his desire to play at a bigger basketball school as the primary reason for his transfer. Despite that, JUCO appears to be McCombs’ likely destination, at least for now. He said he is leaning towards playing at Indian Hills CC in Iowa while he tries to impress the bigger schools.
